Essential oil of Katrafay

Origin: South of Madagascar (Tulear)

It is a species of flowering plants of the Rutaceae family and the genus Cedrelopsis. 

It is a deciduous tree endemic to Madagascar, whose bark is distilled to give an essential oil with many medicinal uses

Latin name: Cedrelopsis grevei. 

Distilled part: bark

Its olfactory assets but also its Malagasy origin offer to the essential oil of Katrafay unique characteristics. 

Katrafay essential oil is composed of unique aromatic molecules such as ishwarane, β-lemene or α-himachalene. 

It is mainly used in joint pain, in case of stings or fatigue for its anti-inflammatory, stimulating and analgesic action. 

Properties:

The essential oil of Katafray is highly concentrated in sesquiterpenes (ishwarane, alpha-copaene, delta-cadinene, alpha-selinene...). 

These different molecules give it the following main properties:

- Anti-inflammatory (sesquiterpenic carbides):

It will be effective against muscle and joint pain by modulating the immune response and mobilizing white blood cells at the site of inflammation.

- Fortifying and tonic thanks to its stimulating action of the adrenal glands. 

It is recommended in case of asthenia, to fight against tiredness and to maintain a good general state of form.

- Analgesic: by acting on pains in any kind, migraines, backache, sore throat.

- Skin regenerating: useful in case of skin diseases of all kinds, eczema, dermatitis, burns, stings. 

It will allow to calm the locally induced pain, to relieve the inflammation and to soothe your skin.

- Venous decongestant

- Lymphatic decongestant

Cutaneous application:

Katrafay essential oil must be diluted for use on the skin: dilute between 20-50% in a vegetable oil (20-50% essential oil with 80-50% vegetable oil).

This essential oil is to be used for a short period of time and in low doses.

Contraindications

Katrafay essential oil should not be used by people sensitive to allergic reactions. 

Be sure to do an allergy test on the elbow before use. 

For asthmatics, epileptics, seek medical advice before use.
